What should I do in case of crisis or emergency?
In the event of a Crisis / Emergency, what should I do? Call the Crisis Line at (217) 359-4141, 911 to seek emergency services, or call Dial-A-Nurse (217) 333-2700.
Note: At 10:00 a.m. on the first Tuesday of every month, the ESDA will test warning sirens. If you hear these sirens at any other time than the first Tuesday of the month seek cover in the lower level of the building away from glass.

How can I submit an announcement or calendar event?

How do I request, replace, or return office or lab keys?
To request a key, email psych-keys@mx.uillinois.edu.
Keys can be picked up in room 334 after your receive the email reply that they're ready. Note: $10 non-refundable key fee required (cash, check written to the University of Illinois, or credit card). Keys are university property and must be returned when you leave Psychology.
If you need to return your keys, go to room 334. Email psych-keys@mx.uillinois.edu with any questions.
If you lost your keys and need replacements, please email psych-keys@mx.uillinois.edu.
How do I request swipe access to the building?

Building Operations
Who cleans the building?
BSWs (Building Service Workers) employed by the University Facilities & Services (F&S) department. For special requests or concerns regarding BSW support contact Jerry Bonam. Note that trash containers in private offices are emptied only once per week.
How is recycling handled?
There are recycling containers in each hallway. Note that although offices are equipped with paper recycling containers, it is the occupant's responsibility to remove their recycling materials to the hallway containers.
What do I do if I have confidential material that needs to be recycled?
Sensitive materials that require confidential recycling can be handled by requesting special containers from the shop. Please contact Jerry Bonam. The shop will supply the containers for you to fill, and then they are stored in a secure room until a special recycle pickup is coordinated.
Whom do I contact regarding building maintenance issues?
For items requiring normally scheduled repair, such as lights, switches, and dripping faucets, send an email to Jerry Bonam. If the maintenance issue is an emergency (e.g., a water leak creating a safety issue or damage to the facility, electrical outages, door security issues, tripping issues, broken furniture in classrooms, anything else that might harm an individual or the building) please contact Jerry Bonam or Firmino Pinto via phone or in Shop room 39.
Whom do I contact regarding moves and relocation within the building?
Typical moves or relocation of equipment is coordinated with the F&S Moving Crew by Jerry Bonam. Please email your requests and schedule a time to review the scope of the move. Your move can usually be coordinated in less than 2 weeks.
What do I do if I need to have something built or have a piece of laboratory equipment that needs to be repaired?
Please email the shop with your request and or contact Jerry Bonam or Firmino Pinto to coordinate support.
What do I do in case of some disastrous event (e.g., fire, tornado, terrorist attack)?
The department has a Building Emergency Action Plan (see Jerry Bonam for details). The building is also equipped with audible speakers in the fire alarm devices. In case of a building emergency, Stop, Listen and Follow the Instructions you hear. If the emergency instructions being broadcast direct you to leave your area, please see the evacuation maps that are located in hallways and classrooms for your evacuation route.
Teaching
What do I do if a student has a serious problem or if I have serious concerns about a student?
For emergencies that occur during business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-5:00 pm), students should call the Student Assistance Center at (217) 333-0050.
Individuals wishing to contact the Emergency Dean because of a serious or urgent matter that requires an immediate response outside business hours, and that is NOT related to a previous or anticipated absence from class, may reach the Emergency Dean who is on-call at their home by calling (217) 649-4129.

How do I get a NetID?
Technology Services (https://techservices.illinois.edu//) handles the Username and Passwords. For your initial setup you should go to room 1211 in the Digital Computer Lab if this was not done during the new hire process.
My Account is locked, how can I unlock it?
To reset your locked account’s password, if you have access to the internet go to: https://techservices.illinois.edu/, and select the "Reset Your Password" button, otherwise call the Service Technologies Help Desk at 217-244-7000
Whom do I contact with computer questions, like ordering a computer, getting on the network, connecting to a department printer, or general hardware or software problems?

Whom do I contact about Software purchasing and installation?
Check the University Webstore (https://webstore.illinois.edu/home/) to see if the software you need is one we have a site license for.
For installations on Department machines, you will likely need to contact Atlas (http://www.atlas.illinois.edu/support/desktop/), or psych-help@illinois.edu to perform the actual installs.
Another option for ATLAS-managed machines is to search for "Software Center" in the search box on the Windows Start menu. The Software Center will show you icons for site-licensed software. Just click on an icon to have that software installed.
If you need to purchase software that is not available via the webstore, please email psych-purchasing@mx.uillinois.edu for information on the process.
How do I create a new Psych mailing list, manage an existing list, or update my list subscriptions?
Log in to https://lists.psychology.illinois.edu/, login with your NetID/AD password,
To create a new mailing list, select the "Create list" tab. Decide whether to "Copy an existing list" or "Create a list using a template." If you use a template, fill in the request form completely. The request will be sent to IT staff who will review it and create the list or contact you with any questions.
To manage an existing list of your own subscriptions, select a list that you are a subscriber to or that you manage (Admin) from the menu on the left. Click on the list name to change your subscription or access your editing options. To subscribe to a list, select the list from the "Lists of lists" tab and then select the "Subscribe" option.
For assistance, select the "Help" tab.
Whom do I contact to set up a lab or class web page?

How do I access one of the AITS applications (a Banner form, HireTouch, Chrome River, etc.)?
Obtaining access will require three steps:
- Have your supervisor request access, or request it for yourself if you are a faculty member, from the department unit security contact Firmino Pinto or Victoria Huart
- Complete the Campus Information Security Form and email the USC to let them know you've completed it.

I need an application in a computer classroom that is not currently installed, how can I get help with installing an application not currently installed in a computer classroom for my course?
Complete the Atlas Desktop & Tech Support web form at http://www.atlas.illinois.edu/support/desktop/. Note: installation of new applications in computer classrooms may not be immediate, especially during busy times of the semester. Please make all requests as far in advance as possible.
Is printing available in our computer classrooms?
Yes. Each classroom has a departmental printer. Printing is done from the computers within the room. All the classroom computers are accessible with your AD login. Note however, not everyone with an AD login will be able to print in the classroom.
The Psychology faculty and TA's using a computer classroom for their course are given printing accounts for that semester. Upon request by the instructor or TA of a course using one of our computer classrooms, printing accounts can be created for their students.
The classroom printers are also available to Psychology graduate students. Each year, Psychology graduate students are allotted printing funds that can be used to print in our computer classrooms. Printing must be done when a class is not in session.
Printing accounts may also be set up for any other Psychology faculty or staff needing to use a classroom printer.
