The Department of Psychology Diversity and Inclusion Committee consists of faculty, staff, and students who come together to help promote and support the Department's diversity mission. We meet on the first Tuesday of each month. The Diversity and Inclusion Committee also evaluates applications for Diversity and Inclusion Grants.
We greatly appreciate community members sharing ongoing issues or areas for improvement with the committee. We encourage suggestions that describe a specific incident that needs to be addressed, as well as general advice about activities or services that would facilitate a sense of belonging among all the members of our community. Submit suggestions anonymously here.
The committee is concerned with obstacles to achieving our departmental mission to produce cutting edge scientific research and educate students. Students, faculty, staff, and our unit function more effectively when community members have their academic, social, and resource needs met. Questions and concerns about departmental matters can be shared with the Associate Head for Diversity and Inclusion. In almost all cases, these conversations are confidential. Talking with the committee does not trigger an investigation. These conversations are low pressure, help identify systematic issues, and focus on providing support.
