Undergraduate Research Assistants for the Alcohol Research Lab

8/23/23 - We have filled all research assistant positions for Fall 2023. Please check back for future openings!

Are you interested in gaining research experience and exploring your interests in clinical research? The Alcohol Research Lab is currently recruiting a limited number (5-6) of undergraduate research assistants. In the alcohol lab, we explore the effect of alcohol on social, cognitive, and emotional responses. Specifically, we are interested in looking at the reinforcing effects of alcohol in social contexts in order to get a better sense of the different factors that put an individual at risk of developing an alcohol problem.

Research assistants aid in a variety of different aspects of our research including screening, recruiting, and data management. At this time, we are primarily searching for individuals to assist us with recruitment and screening efforts, but there will likely be opportunities to get involved in other projects within the lab!

We ask that our research assistants 1) commit 10 hours a week to the lab, 2) can attend our weekly lab meetings at 5pm on Wednesdays, and 3) have some evening/weekend availability to attend recruitment events a few times a month.

If you are interested in joining the lab, please fill out this application. We are reviewing applications and interviewing students on a rolling basis. If you have any questions about the position, please contact Alexa Boland (anboland@illinois.edu).
