Parents’ Involvement in Child Math Learning

Are you excited about research and ready to explore the dynamic intersection of parent-child interactions and math learning? We are seeking research assistants for the 2025 Spring who are eager to support our research of parent-child math learning. This is a unique opportunity to be at the cutting edge of a pioneering study examining the impact of parents’ involvement on children's math learning!

By joining our team, you will gain hands-on experience in every stage of the research process. From developing innovative study designs to engaging directly with participants, you'll be involved in all aspects of the project. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact, as your contributions will play a crucial role in reshaping our understanding of how parental involvement affects children's math learning.

In general, you will assist in the creation and implementation of the study. Your role will involve supporting recruitment efforts, coordinating study logistics, and helping to develop and administer surveys and assessment to children and parents. Additionally, you’ll collect and analyze data from parents and children and conduct video-based behavioral coding.

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking individuals who are experienced and driven, with some prior research experience. While experience working with parents and children is a plus, it is not required. We are looking for committed and reliable team members who can dedicate at lease 12 hours per week in Spring 2025. Ideal candidates are team players with a passion for learning, who have completed at least two psychology courses and are excited to contribute to a collaborative research environment.
