three pictures of families eating a meal together playing together and reading a book together

We are analyzing audio recordings of parent-child conversations across different contexts (e.g. meal-time, book reading, free play, etc). The work can be completed remotely. Research assistant in this project will help us analyze transcribed recordings in CHAT and ELAN software with python and R. They will learn about language development and how we can use this data to better understand children’s knowledge and language development.

For this project, we are looking for a student with linguistic and python or R programming experience and interest in text analyses. Time commitment:  nine hours of lab work each week.

We will be reviewing applications from August 25th  to September 1st. Applicants will be notified via email by September 2nd.
