Nicole Allen and Students win the Campus Award for Excellence in Public Engagement

Date

Each year the campus recognizes outstanding contributions in public engagement to address critical societal issues. The PSC Advocacy Project engages undergraduate and graduate students in an intensive advocacy program serving women survivors of intimate partner violence, and girls at high risk of involvement in the juvenile justice system. The majority of the Project's clients are women and girls of color living in poverty.

The Campus Award for Excellence in Public Engagement was developed to recognize people who have applied their knowledge and expertise to issues of public concern in order to improve the well-being of Illinois residents. The award honors faculty members, academic professionals and students who have consistently applied their knowledge and expertise to issues of societal importance for the public good.
