The Ecologies of Liberation Lab, led by Dr. Todd, investigates mental health disparities among LGBTQ+ populations. We focus on socioecological contributors to health – examining how individuals, communities, institutions, and policies shape wellbeing. A central thread in our work explores religion’s complex role as both a risk and protective factor in LGBTQ+ mental health.

Who Should Apply:

  • Sophomore standing or above (by Fall 2026)
  • Commit to 6-9 hours a week (through PSYC 290)
  • Eligible to take PSYC 290: Research Experience in Psychology
  • Interested in LGBTQ+ communities, religion/spirituality, or mental health

We're looking for students who are curious, reliable, and interested in health equity research. Prior research experience is not required – we will train you. What matters most is an interest in the work and commitment to your role in the lab.

What You Will Do:

  • Assist with systematic literature searching, screening, and data extraction to synthesize research on contributors to LGBTQ+ health
