Biography

I received a Bachelor's degree in General Psychology from East China Normal University before enrolling at the University of Illinois. I am currently working in the Cognitive Neuroimaging Lab with Dr. Fabiani and Dr. Gratton.

Research Interests

My research interest focuses on consciousness, especially visual awareness. I believe that the application of brain stimulation, integration of multiple imaging techniques, and computational modeling can help us know more about this profound mystery.

Research Description

Now I am working on a brain imaging project about visual awareness based on the Event Related Optical Signals (EROS) and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) data. By applying TMS to the parietal cortex, phosphene is elicited without signal input from the visual cortex. I study how the backward projection to the visual cortex and the phase of alpha oscillation in the parietal cortex are related to visual awareness. I am also working on 1/f frequency analysis of EEG data.
