Corey Richier has been honored with the LAS Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching for Graduate Assistance from the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.

Richier has taught a number of introductory and laboratory courses over the years and has been named “Instructor Rated as Outstanding” regularly. “Corey’s most innovative and impactful teaching, however, emerged at the intersection of open discussion and his highly polished formal lecturing,” wrote a student.

In addition to his teaching, Richier conducts research at the intersection of cognitive, clinical, and computational neuroscience. His work focuses on using machine learning and neuroimaging methods to understand mechanisms underlying cognition and psychopathology.

This LAS award is part of the college’s annual teaching and advising recognition program, which honors faculty, graduate instructors, and advisors who demonstrate outstanding dedication to student learning and mentorship.
