We have another addition to our staff who will be wearing many hats. Our new Office Support Specialist, Andrew Walker will be helping our our HR department and providing Advising Support to our Undergraduate students.

Per tradition, we asked him a handful of questions to get to know him better.

1 – What was your very first paid job?

My very first paid job was a paper route when I was 14. I've held many other jobs since then ranging from being an administrator in the Marines to installing flooring in residential housings.

2 – What is one song that always picks you up and brightens your mood?

I don't have a single go-to song that I always turn to as my music choice is constantly changing. This past year I jumped between Doodles by Rose Betts, Happy and Green Lights by NF, and Wellerman by the Longest Johns. I have a very sporadic music taste.

3 – Where is your favorite place to eat on campus?

My favorite place to eat on campus is Hey Bobo, mainly because I've been on a bit of a boba kick this past year. My back up spots (albeit a bit more basic) are Fat Sandwich and Noodles and Company. Off campus, I would definitely recommend 83 Vietnamese.

4 – Where would you ideally travel to escape this recent trend of bone chilling temperatures?

My ideal travel location to escape the recent cold and snowy weather conditions of Central Illinois would be Anchorage, Alaska. I actually very much enjoy the snow and colder temperatures. My out of country ideal location would be Italy, I just returned from a Europe trip not to long ago and Italy was definitely the highlight of that trip.

5 – Describe the contents that are currently in the trunk of your car?

The back of my tiny little Jeep Renegade currently contains: A table saw, mitre saw, oscillating saw, a backpack toolbox, shop vac, air compressor, and a ton of 5 gallon buckets. I still install floors every now and then so my Jeep seconds as a work "van".

Welcome to the third floor, Andrew!
