Jeannie Liu

Biography

Jeannie Liu is a master's student in Psychological Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where she works with Dr. Caroline Kelsey in the Study of Early Experiences on Development (SEED) Lab.

Research Interests

Jeannie is broadly interested in the early developmental processes that give rise to individual differences in infancy. She is particularly curious about how infants perceive and respond to their early environments, and how these experiences relate to later developmental outcomes in both typical and atypical development.

Research Description

Jeannie's current work examines how infants' early neural responses to sensory input relate to their everyday sensory behaviors and regulation. Using data from the HEALthy Brain and Child Development (HBCD) Study, she is investigating links between infant EEG measures of auditory change detection, caregiver-reported sensory processing, and infants' regulation in social contexts. She will also contribute to data collection for ManyBabies 5, a large-scale, multi-lab replication study in infant cognition.
