Research Interests
Hua Bai is a first-year doctoral student in the Developmental Psychology program. She earned a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2023. Before joining the Family Studies Lab, she worked as a post-baccalaureate research assistant at Boys Town National Research Hospital, where she studied brain structure and function during childhood and adolescence using structural MRI and MEG. Broadly, her research interests focus on how childhood trauma, socioeconomic factors, and pubertal development shape socioemotional development and risk for psychopathology across adolescence.
