Biography
Harlan Gunderson graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison with a B. A. in psychology. He is currently a second-year master's student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where he works with Dr. Kimberly Rios at the Conformity, Attitudes, Threat, and Stereotypes (CATS) Lab.
His research interests lie in intergroup relations, political psychology, and cultural psychology. He is interested in how perceived threat, societal change, cultural context, and political attitudes influence prejudice and attitudes toward social groups, with the ultimate goal of contributing to a deeper understanding of the social and cultural factors that foster intergroup conflict or cohesion.
Beyond research, he is passionate about science communication and increasing the accessibility of psychological research for underserved and underrepresented communities.
