Research Description
My current research focuses on the interconnections and disconnects between Fight for $15 (FF$15), a fast-food workers organization, and the Black Liberation Movement in St. Louis, Missouri. I am a research assistant working with Professor Chris Larrison in the Social Work Department on the Champaign County Guaranteed Income Pilot, a project exploring the impacts of a guaranteed basic income on health, mental health, and quality of life for families experiencing housing insecurity. More information here: https://socialwork.illinois.edu/news/research-team-piloting-monthly-income-for-10-homeless-families/. I also assist Professor Lou Turner with the Hal Baron Project, collecting and editing the works of Harold Baron, former Director of Research for the Chicago Urban League (1962-1968) and policy adviser of Harold Washington, for publication (https://halbaronproject.web.illinois.edu/).
