Sam DeHart received her B.S. in Psychology and B.A. in Music from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Sam is currently working with Dr. Howard Berenbaum in the BEAST lab (Berenbaum Emotion and Psychopathology Team).
Currently, Sam is working on a project examining people who either view themselves in a very positive light or generally describe themselves as being broken/damaged individuals. Specifically, Sam is looking at what life circumstances and experiences might contribute to an individual’s sense of self.
Sam is also studying moral injury in military veterans. More specifically, Sam is looking at things people might have done or failed to do that resulted in harm to others. In a current project, facets of guilt and regret experienced as a result of these actions/inactions are being examined as they relate to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
